in 3 sessions

without fluff and awkwardness.

If you know it's time to have the "you're growing up" talk with your daughter

But you feel:

Nervous

Awkward

Unprepared

Unsure

Like you want to avoid it like the plague

Like school will prepare her well enough

This course is for you AND your daughter.

By the end of this course,

your daughter will…

  • Have an understanding of her anatomy, inside and out.

We'll explain each part of her female anatomy, what it is, where it's at, and what it does. She will never fear that a tampon may get lost inside her body, because she'll know her cervix is there to stop it. She will understand that she urinates through a different pathway than she births a baby. She will feel empowered at a doctor's visit because she knows how to identify her body in a way that she can clearly communicate.
  • Understand the changes her body is experiencing

Everything from growth spurts to B.O., body hair to discharge and of course, her period.
  • Understand her period and hormone cycle

We'll cover the four phases of her cycle so she can work with her body instead of against it.
  • Learn about period products

Pads, tampons, cups, undies, and all things related. Stains, odor, hygiene... it's all covered.
  • Feel empowered, confident and sure about her body and her health

She will be able to communicate and understand the happenings in her body. Knowing what is normal will help her to feel normal. No matter where in her journey she is currently at.

What’s Inside of
Let's Talk!

Module 1

Anatomy

It's awful hard to understand puberty if you don't know the parts of your body that make you female. It's even harder to communicate with a trusted adult, if you don't know which parts of you are causing discomfort. This review of anatomy covers only the facts of the body in a way that provides your daughter the verbiage she needs to discuss further questions with you or her doctor/trusted adult if the need ever arises.

Module Highlights:

  • Breast Development
  • External Anatomy
  • Internal Anatomy
Module 2

Puberty

We'll discuss all the happenings inside the body as we go from girls to women. As the parent, you won't have to discuss the topics that may feel a little awkward. I'll do all the talking, you just get to sit with your daughter as we talk about body changes, hormones, and all that that entails. This discussion is just facts with an approach that helps to empower our daughters to be strong, confident women. Girls and thus women, who know how to honor their bodies.

Module Highlights:

  • Hormones/Feelings
  • Shame Game, Bras, Discharge
  • Growth spurts, BO, Hygiene
Module 3

Periods

The hormone cycle that brings on your period is fascinating and can be used to our advantage, if you understand it. We'll cover the four phases, what a period is, how to track it, and the products available to use while you bleed.

Module Highlights:

  • What, When, and Why we have periods
  • Period products
  • Understanding the phases and cycle

Still thinking about it?

Let's talk! is PERFECT for you if…

  1. Your daughter is between the ages of 7-12 and you are nervous about having the conversation about her growing up.
  2. You're wanting a buffer in this conversation, someone to bring it up and teach, with you present to answer questions.
  3. You want your daughter to grow up sure and confident in her body and well-being.
  4. You want to be sure that she is learning from a trusted source, not a google search or Tiktok.
  5. You're not sure you're prepared to answer the questions your daughter may have.
  6. The thought of saying the words vagina, menstruation, or pubic hair to your daughter makes you cringe.
  7. No one had this conversation with you, so you don't know how to have it with your daughters.
  8.  You were hoping the school talk would cover the basics, but with all the changes in the last couple years, you're not even sure if there is going to be a talk at school.

I can’t wait to chat with you and yours!

When I was a child, I learned far too much about my anatomy, puberty, and periods from my friends, movies, and magazines (this was all before the internet). I had no idea what was normal and what wasn't. That led to me living years in discomfort, hating my body for the pain it caused me, and seeking help long after I should have. In fact, I was in nursing school learning Anatomy and Physiology all over again and thinking hmmm...something isn't right with my body. This was almost 10 years after I had started my period!

My mother was involved and a great mom, but I was far too embarrassed to ask my mom about my discomforts. Besides that, my friends who had older sisters were experts anyway, right? By the time the school nurse discussed the "changes," our bodies were going through, we had already had full lessons on the playground and at sleepovers.

When I became a nurse and started working in labor and delivery, it became clear to me that for some women, that playground education was the only education they received.

Maybe their school didn't provide this talk.

Maybe these women were too embarrassed to listen and ask questions during the talk at school.

Maybe their parents were not comfortable having this talk.

Maybe everyone in their lives assumed someone else was teaching them, so they didn't need to.

Maybe they waited for their kids to ask, and they never did so the conversation was never had.

No matter the reason it didn't happen, the fact is there is a surprising amount of women in this country who do not understand that their uterus is a separate organ inside their body and they do not urinate from their vagina. Among many other misconceptions and confusions.

My goal with Purely You Healing has always been to help women become the best versions of themselves. To feel connected and empowered by all the strength they hold in their feminine body. Instead of teaching women by the time they're in labor, let's work together to teach our girls from the beginning.  Let's help them find comfort in one of the most amazing processes in the human body. Let's help them find strength in their body, so they can honor it in every way. Let's help them ditch the stereotypes and judgment and fear.

Let's raise girls that grow up to be strong women.

I'm here to help. With my 9 years of nursing experience and 6 years of working one-on-one with women in Purely You Healing, I'll say all the "awkward" things, you just have to bring your daughter and be prepared to answer any questions she may have.

I cannot wait to help guide you and your little girl.

I'll see you there,

Jess
