Purely You Blog #100

Let’s Celebrate! This is the 100th Purely You Blog!

I remember in 6th grade we had to write one paragraph, at least 5 sentences, for homework every night. While I didn’t mind writing, that seemed exhausting. Here I am now choosing to write every week for the last 100 weeks! And every week for a few hundred more… Today we’ll take a beat to reflect on the most popular posts in the first 100. One dozen of them to be exact. So here we go…

Starting at the 12th most popular post

#12 Protect Your Space. This one is all about preventing people from sucking the life out of you and knowing how to protect your good mood even when you’re around a bunch of negative Nancy’s! “Listen, someone else's rain doesn't have to fall on your parade.”

#11 Hard Conversations. This chat is a reminder that we are the examples for our daughters and our daughters will have opportunities to make big changes in our world....

Living with Endo

Did you know March is endometriosis awareness month? Sure thing. This begs the question, do you know what endometriosis is?

Endometriosis is a condition where cells similar to the endometrial tissue inside of the uterus, grow on the outside the uterus. Usually, this just affects organs in the pelvic cavity, but in rare cases, it can extend beyond and into other parts of the body. These cells function just like the cells inside of the uterus, thickening, breaking down, and bleeding in sync with your cycle. Since these cells grow in places they don’t belong, there’s no way for the body to release the excess cells. The body treats them as foreign, and scar tissue is created from the body’s response. That scar tissue and adhesions can lead to quite painful experiences and side effects, such as increased cramping, pelvic pain, infertility, pain with sex, constipation, or bladder issues, heavy bleeding, and/or anemia. There is not one defined cause and there is still...

How Will You Respond?

Growing up there were a couple of sitcoms we watched as a family (back when TV was a little more family-friendly) that often referred to anger management techniques. The two I remember the most were the rubber band on the wrist, to be snapped during moments of anger, and the “close your eyes and count to 10 before responding rule.” I feel like these things were mentioned often on TV, but maybe they were just techniques that stood out to me so I remembered them… either way, this conversation is more about that choice to respond differently. The decision to snap the rubber band, or count to ten before responding is a conscious choice that affects the outcome. In a big way.

In every interaction you partake in, you have the ability to choose how you will respond to the situation. There are SO many human emotions, your options are truly endless. The question becomes, what does this response create in my life? See if you respond with a low vibration energy (read...

Which Service to Choose?

Every session is different. Cliché yes, but it’s the truth! I have been trained as a Reiki Master, a Master Herbalist, a Women’s Healing Arts Teacher, a Certified Angel Card Reader, and also have training in Chakra cleansing, Essential Oils, and Healing Crystals, as well as Doula training. I am an Intuitive and Nurse. You can read about my story here. In all my training and experience I have learned one thing that remains the same for every situation; whether you’re a client on my table or a patient in the ER: every human is different. Every situation is different. That means every session has to be different. When you come for your session, we use whatever modalities your body, mind, and soul need that day. Some appointments are mostly energy work, some are focused more on nutrition and supplements. Some days we use crystals and oils, some days we do not. Sometimes the focus is on current situations, sometimes it is in the past. We put...

What is Energy?

Purely You Healing
What is Energy?
4:22

Did you know your body has an energy system, just like it has a skeletal system and circulatory system? Physics has proved that every living thing is comprised of energy. Ancient Japanese and Chinese medicines have known this for thousands of years, but we are just coming around to it in modern cultures. To break it down simply, everything on our planet is comprised of atoms. Those atoms vibrate at specific frequencies and that is what creates the density of each item. Water is unique, but a great example of the differences. When water (H2O) is steam, those atoms are vibrating quickly; when it is ice, they vibrate slowly; as a liquid, they vibrate somewhere in the middle. Foods that serve your body have higher vibrations than those that don't, for example, an organic apple would have a high frequency, where Twinkies would have a low one. Emotions work the same way. The vibration of joy, happiness, and gratitude is very high, whereas the vibrations of anger, grief, and resentment are...
